Custom Home Investment Inc., doing business as Custom Home Design and Build, ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at https://www.customhome.us. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website or contact us.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
When you fill out our contact form, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, property address, project type, timeline, budget range, and a message describing your project. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and discuss potential services.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we may collect:
- Analytics data: Pages visited, time on site, referral source, browser type, and device information, collected through Google Analytics.
- Approximate location: If you allow personalization, we use ipapi.co to determine your general city location within the Bay Area. This is used only to personalize on-page text (for example, displaying your city name instead of "Bay Area"). We do not store your IP address or precise location.
- Cookies: Small text files stored on your device to remember preferences and support analytics. See the Cookies section below for details.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your contact form submissions and project inquiries
- To personalize your experience on our website
- To understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it
- To comply with legal obligations
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics: Collects anonymized usage data to help us understand site traffic and user behavior. Google's Privacy Policy
- ipapi.co: Provides approximate city-level geolocation based on your IP address. Used for on-page text personalization only. Your IP address is not stored by us. Only runs if you allow the Personalization category in our consent banner.
- Vercel: Hosts our website and provides first-party, privacy-friendly analytics. Does not set cookies and is classified as essential. Vercel may also collect server logs including IP addresses and request metadata.
- Facebook Pixel: Tracks page visits for advertising measurement. Only loads if you allow Analytics & Marketing via our consent banner. Facebook's Data Policy
- GoHighLevel (CRM): When you submit our contact form, your information is sent to GoHighLevel, a customer relationship management platform, to help us organize and respond to inquiries. Your data is processed in accordance with their privacy practices and is not shared further. GoHighLevel's Privacy Policy
- Google Fonts: Fonts are loaded from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Google may collect your IP address and basic request metadata when serving font files. Google's Privacy Policy
- Microsoft Clarity: Records heatmaps and anonymous session replays to help us understand how visitors interact with our site. Only loads if you allow Analytics & Marketing via our consent banner. Microsoft's Privacy Statement
Cookies and Local Storage
When you first visit our website, a consent banner lets you choose which categories of tracking to allow. Your preferences are saved in your browser's local storage and apply across all pages. You can change your preferences at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
We organize our tracking tools into three categories:
- Essential: Keeps the site working. Stores your theme preference (light or dark mode) and consent choices. Vercel Analytics, a first-party privacy-friendly analytics service, also falls under this category. These cannot be turned off.
- Personalization: Uses your approximate city location (via ipapi.co) to customize content for where you live. For example, displaying your city name instead of "Bay Area." Your IP address is not stored by us. You can disable this category to opt out of location-based personalization.
- Analytics & Marketing: Includes Google Analytics (anonymized usage data), Facebook Pixel (advertising measurement), and Microsoft Clarity (session recordings and heatmaps). These services only load if you allow this category. If you decline, no third-party tracking scripts are loaded and no tracking cookies are set.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
Do Not Track
Our site does not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. However, you can control which tracking scripts load on our site through our cookie consent banner. If you decline the Analytics & Marketing category, no third-party tracking scripts (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or Microsoft Clarity) will load, regardless of your browser's DNT setting.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with service providers who assist in operating our website, provided they agree to keep your information confidential.
Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and maintain our business records. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings.
Your Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You can request details about the personal data we collect, the sources it comes from, and the purposes for which it is used.
- Right to Delete: You can request that we delete the personal data we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt-Out: You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal data. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.
